SHEROCON AT LA COMIC CON WAS A HUGE SUCCESS

Back in 2019, we partnered with Westfield Culver City and launched our very first SheroCon pop-up comic convention, and over 4,000 Los Angelenos showed up to celebrate women who were navigating the male-dominated worlds of comics, films, and gaming.

In 2020, we followed up with another successful year just days before COVID arrived and shut the world down. SheroCon went on hiatus for the following two years and wasn’t scheduled to return until 2024. But then, something interesting happened. A few months ago, the team at Los Angeles Comic Con reached out to us with an offer we couldn’t refuse…”Bring SheroCon to LA Comic Con.”

On December 1st, that’s exactly what we did with the return of SheroCon 2023 at Los Angeles Comic Con! Thousands of fans from all over descended upon the Los Angeles Convention Center and showed love to our all-female Shero Alley that featured an incredible lineup of Sheroes.

There was Emmy-nominated Janeshia Adams-Ginyard from Black Panther, Wakanda Forever, and the voice of Cartman from South Park’s recent Panderverse episode.

Cartoonist Lela Lee, the brains behind the nationally syndicated “Angry Little Girls” universe, returned to SheroCon for the third time.

Podcasters Comadres Y Comics, showed up and showed out with a multitude of books from creators of color that they helped amplify.

The Geek Girls Society was there spreading all of their girl geek joy!

A Young Shero Sumer Strawbree, came all the way from Florida to join us with her bundle of coloring books with encouraging words of affirmation for young girls of color.

Chicxs Rockerxs SELA rocked out with their musical themed booth where young people got a chance snap flicks with props.

Qweerty Gamers was there to spread PRIDE and to bring some gameplay to the Shero Alley.

Shero Comics was there with our comics and bestselling merchandise that sent the crowd into a “Bougie Nerd” tailspin. This was the first time our young comic con customers got a chance to view “Squad Goals” and “Young Grandmaster Choi” in person, and it was a complete lovefest!

And last but certainly not least, Shero Games made a BIG SPLASH in the Shero Alley. We had an interactive gaming station set up for fans to play the prototype of our “Rayven Choi: Reaper’s Run” game, and it was a HIT! The #1 question was “where can I download this?” We think it’s a sign of great things to come, and can’t wait for you all to get your hands on the game!

When fans weren’t interacting with the Sheroes in our Shero Alley, they were busy flashing pictures on our “Step and ReTweet” pink carpet! Below are some of our favorite flicks!
