The next installment of Young Grandmaster Choi is on the way! We are super excited to announce that we have begun drawing the second book of Young Grandmaster Choi! We anticipate releasing the book in late August, just in time for the back-to-school bonanza!
This second book continues the adventures of the newly adopted Rayven Johnson-Choi as she adjusts to her new life in Seoul, Korea. In this second book, Rayven feels alienated after another classmate tries to bully her and reminds her that she’s not Korean. Rayven struggles to fit in until she attends a cultural festival and finds a bit of American history in South Korea that directly connects to her African American roots.
Below, you can get a sneak peek at our variant cover of Book II that honors the 2024 Olympics. Our artist, Qazz, provided us with some footage of how he pencils and inks the cover that our colorist Alivon splashes with her beautiful coloring.
